Hello! Most of you know me by my former business name, Elena Sanchez Photography. I’m so excited to announce that we have finally made the change we’ve been working on for a few months, and are now Glass Lantern Photography!
So, why the change?
Well, there are a couple differences with this big change, and the big one is that my husband and best friend, Israel, will be collaborating with me on more shoots, incorporating more video, and is my main designer. We are excited to work together more with this big change!
Another big change is obviously the name. Since Elena Sanchez Photography is no longer just Elena Sanchez, we wanted to create a name that would include both of us, but also to create a branding that incorporates our love for all things vintage. One of my favorite things about planning a shoot is scouring local antique and vintage stores to find the perfect vintage prop. I’ve always loved old objects and love trying to imagine the story behind how these different antiques came to be where they are and where they came from. I even had an old key collection as a little girl!
When I was doing research just on the term “glass lantern photography,” I discovered that this was a technique used to display photos before the invention of photography! Glass slides made from drawings or paintings were held up in a device, lit by either a candle or a lantern, and projected on a wall. When I learned this, I thought, ‘How perfect!’
With Glass Lantern Photography, we wish to capture magical images for you with a bit of whimsy, that will also reflect your personality perfectly, which you’ll have to cherish for years.
